Register your child/children today!
Children must be registered before participating in any activities at Island Time!
There is no charge to register your child, so if you think your child will play within the next 6 months at Island Time, go ahead and register them now, that way when you are in a pinch, you’ve already done the legwork.
All families must have a reservation to play. Just send us a text and request a time. Standing reservations also available for 6 months. All reservations are subject to availability.
Hourly Play
Island Time Hourly Play is was designed with FUN in mind.
Hourly Play is your solution to flexible childcare where kids can play up to 4 hours at a time. Hourly care when you need it, without the financial obligation when you don’t! We are here when you need us. For children 12 months to 12 years.
Enjoy over 4500 square feet of indoor play. Currently separated into 3 play spaces.
One room is dedicated to our Preschool (ages 3 & 4) during the school year and our Explorers summer camp (ages 4 & 5). Our K-2 after school students also enjoy this room during the school year.
Our biggest space is dedicated to children 5-12 years old. It is separated into two rooms, one for kids 5-7 and the other side for kids 8-12. During the school year this room also acts as our indoor recess room and community support room in the mornings and after-school room in the afternoons. In the summer this room is home to our Voyager Campers (ages 6-11).
Our Hourly Play room is dedicated to kids under 5. It includes toys to challenge gross motor and fine motor skills, little potties to encourage independence, and every toy imaginable.
Our outdoor space features over 3000 square feet of SAND! Outside you will find:
An outdoor kitchen creation space
Several structures to encourage climbing
2 swing sets + a tree swing
A concrete path for our wheels (cars, scooters, etc)
Dinosaur dirt dig pit (kids love to get dirty here)
Lots of laughter

Hourly Play FAQ
Is my time limited by the day or the week?
We are happy to provide quality care for up to 4 hours per day on any day we are open. There are exceptions for school age children – see below.
What if I need more than 4 hours of care?
We have 2 flex spots per day for emergency/special circumstances. Maybe you have to be in court, or have a medical/dental procedure, or have to do business outside of Wilmington. Talk to us, we can help!
I keep hearing about reservations. How does that work?
Knowing who’s coming and how long they will play really helps our team and ensures quality care. Best way to make a reservation is by texting. We even accept standing reservations (ie. MWF from 9am-1pm for the next 6 months).
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
Please just send a text to let us know as soon as you know. If we don’t hear from you, we do charge a $10 fee for no shows as we’ve held that spot for your child.
We really wish you were open later and on weekends. When is that going to happen again?
We would love to be open more, but staffing and community interest just isn’t there yet. If you and a group of friends/family need care, we are happy to open if we have at least 5 kids. That’s it, just 5. So start planning and let us know and we are happy to help!
After School
Registration is $25 per family and is non refundable (unless we do not have enough interest from your school choice and we end up not offering pick-up). Please fill out our online registration for after-school. We currently pick up from Carolina Beach Elementary and Anderson Elementary. Each year school locations are subject to change based on interest.
We offer flexible rates based on how many days per week you need after school care.
Don’t need after-school care every day? That’s ok, at Island Time we are all about flexibility. On a first come first serve basis, for available seats on the van, Island Time can pick-up your child and you just pay our regular hourly rates plus $5 pick up fee. If our van is full, you are welcome to have a friend or family member drop off at Island Time for you (child must already be registered with Island Time)! Requests for flexible pick-up must be received by 12:00pm. Children participating in our flexible after-school, will receive all the same treatment as our weekly/monthly after school kids.

Preschool
IT Preschool incorporates literacy, math, science, & art through PLAY.
Two Year Olds: 2 Day program from 9am-1pm
Three Year Olds: 3 Day program from 9am-1pm
4/5 Year Olds: 5 Day program from 9am-1pm (must be in underwear by start of school year)
IT Preschool closely follows NHCS Traditional Calendar.
Kids are welcome to play in our drop-in playrooms on their off days of school if seeking M-F play!
Registration begins February of each year (and is typically full by April).
Summer Camp
If you need 1 week or the whole summer long (10 weeks), Island Time Summer Camp is the place to be! A summer filled with weekly themed activities, field trips, water play every Wednesday, and lots of FUN. We have 3 different camp groups this summer. Explorers, Voyagers, and Adventurers. Registration open now, click the link below!
EXPLORERS (16 spots weekly) 9am-1pm
For kids that will be 4 or 5 by September 1. It’s the perfect introduction into what Island Time Camp is all about. Explorers may go on mini field trips to local parks. Extended day is not available for Explorers.
VOYAGERS (20 spots weekly) 9am-3pm
For school age kids, rising 1st – 2nd grade.
Voyagers will enjoy at least 2 field trips per week
ADVENTURERS (20 spots weekly) 9am-3pm
For school age kids, rising 3rd-5th grade.
Adventurers will enjoy at least 2 field trips per week
Extended day available for all Voyagers/Adventurers.
