Our preschool calendar started on Tuesday, September 8th and will conclude Friday, May 21st. As per Gov. Cooper’s guidelines, we will be operating at 50% capacity.   We have limited our enrollment to 12 students.  In order to limit exposure in the classroom,  we are not going to have other adults in and out of the room aside from our lead teacher and support from the preschool director.

During the school day, kids will engage with each other and the classroom using rotating centers and small group instruction.  Masks are required and social distancing will be encouraged (though much more difficult to enforce with 3 and 4 year olds). Masks will always be worn by adults interacting with students as long as required by the state.

Over the summer we have had an opportunity to see how preschool might work by watching our summer camp program.  We are currently in our 7th week of summer camp and our Explorers group (4-6yr olds) has been so much fun. We have 12 kids in camp, with one team member, utilizing our preschool room and it has been very successful.  We will continue to check temperatures every morning before kids come in the building and follow our strict cleaning procedures during the day and after children leave our facility.  And of course, we will continue to help kids learn great hand washing skills!

We understand that making the decision to send your child to preschool or choosing to keep them at home is a very difficult choice and we don’t take this responsibility lightly.
